Workshops & Training Opportunities

The Parent-Infant Research Institute (PIRI) has a long history of providing training and professional development for Maternal and Child Health Nurses, midwives, general practitioners, psychologists, and other health professionals working with families during the perinatal period.

While PIRI is not currently offering a full calendar of face-to-face workshops or training programs, we continue to develop and share evidence-informed learning opportunities aligned with our research and clinical work.

PIRI Training Hub

PIRI has recently launched an online Training Hub, which brings together current training opportunities in one place. These will include a mix of free and paid courses designed for health professionals and practitioners working with parents and infants.

Explore available training via the PIRI Training Hub:

Additional courses will be added over time as new content becomes available.

Future training opportunities

PIRI continues to be actively involved in cutting-edge clinical research, service delivery, and the dissemination of knowledge to support best practice across the perinatal care pathway. As interest and capacity allow, further workshops and training opportunities may be offered in the future.

We encourage health professionals and organisations to join our mailing list (below) to be notified when new training programs, workshops, or events become available.

Teaching and placements

PIRI maintains a strong commitment to education and workforce development. We regularly provide clinical placements for doctoral and masters-level psychology students from La Trobe University, Swinburne University of Technology, Australian Catholic University, Deakin University, the University of Melbourne, and RMIT University.

We have also hosted international placements from Indonesia, France, Italy, and Sweden.
