Understanding Uptake of Digital Treatments

Understanding Uptake of Digital Treatments

Perinatal mental health problems, such as depression and anxiety, affect many new and expecting mothers. However, most women do not receive treatment for these problems due to difficulty accessing face-to-face care. Evidence-based digital programs, such as PIRI’s MumMoodBooster have the potential to bridge this gap, yet they are not widely offered in healthcare settings.

This study seeks to understand why digital treatments for perinatal mental health are not widely used in health care settings.

We are inviting health professionals, service leaders and managers, and policy professionals to share their perspectives on what helps or hinders the use of digital programs in practice.

Participation involves a short (3 minute), anonymous online survey, and for some stakeholders, an optional interview to explore the topic in depth.

The findings will help inform practical steps to make safe, evidence-based digital programs more accessible to families.

This study has been approved by the Austin Health Human Research and Ethics Committee.
